For a long time now I have been on a journey of developing and applying my intuition. By no means am I anywhere near mastery. Is anyone? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Intuition for me is truly a sixth sense and one that I feel is neglected, downplayed and disregarded in our mainstream world. I know this because for half my life I focused entirely on learning everything that was not intuitive.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what do I mean by intuition? Many people will have a view. Mine is just one way. It is one that I use as the basis for helping others and for my self.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My definition: Intuition is knowing what we know without knowing how we know it.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yet even with my longstanding focus on all things intuitive it is still an elusive way. Why? We live in a world of reason, order, evidence and proof. The more we have outside of ourselves to justify the inside of ourselves the better. Or so it seems.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me the answer is not one or the other. It is a balance. Intuition is crowded out by multiple other perspectives. Also when both ourselves and others do not have confidence in our inner sense being outwardly expressed it can be dampened. The vacillation of trust and no trust means also that we get false positives. As soon as we do then everyone around us is quick to shout down and point out the evidence of us not really knowing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So instead of playing the battle of proof and evidence I suggest we work together. Let our reason, logic and evidence point us in a direction. Let our intuition help us to evaluate and interpret what we see and notice. Let the strength of all work together rather than stay in one camp or the other.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Easier said than done. With such imbalance of the two we need a bit more support for the intuition camp. How? May I suggest listening to and hearing what your own inner voice has to say. Play with that. Seek the part of you that knows and is just waiting to be heard.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Life happens around you when you are just going about your business. Right? I just happen to swim in a pool that is a bit iconic - i.e. next to a famous bridge, popular amusement park and near a recognised world heritage landmark. If you follow my feed you have surely seen the stories and posts of the pool. It's my sanctuary and energy restorer.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is always something happening, and this week was no exception. One day it was helicopters circling to spot 'you know who' visiting. Then on Friday night it was me innocently parking next to police vans, barricades and police on horses. What was going on? Oh an event related to the special visitors. Ok fine. I will just go swim.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I exit the pool later to this...another fireworks display. This is not the first time. A nice relaxing experience to enjoy in the moment without the crowds. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I love the most is how life surprises us when we are not looking. I love that in a day to day activity I also stumbled on not so day to day happenings.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Living in a big city means there are always happenings. Living in a tourist hotspot also means seeing the visitors. When I choose to engage it is like being both a tourist and a local. This is what is so fun.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have lived in a few 'tourist' places. The duality of a place being home and host is a reminder that we share this world with many. Seeing tourists visiting for a big event is to me just as exciting as being the tourist in another's home town. Last year I remember taking local buses around a large city overseas. I wondered what it must be like to see people like me everyday wide-eyed and in wonder approaching landmarks they see every day. Perhaps that is the same here. Still I don't tire of it. I smile, pinch myself and say a silent prayer of thanks for the opportunity.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Would you go back in time and redo? Would you correct a mistake or more? Would you be a different person?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I wonder. I wonder about the first response more than the long drawn out filtered one.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This first one will tell so much more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Wanting to change is not a bad thing. There is no good nor bad really. It is a genuine desire for a different state, way or outcome. We all have these desires. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What matters is the motivation or impetus driving the want.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking over at another, comparing and coming up the lesser than, may be a powerful force. For many this subtle yet powerful nudge to our ego is the main driver to succeed. Keep up with the neighbour. Do what so and so is doing. Have what you don’t have that someone else does have. Gnawing and destructive, this external force is only invited in to those choosing this path.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Looking within and at self as one who stands on your own can be an equally more sustainable and powerful force if we allow it to be so. The desire for change is not to be like another but instead to be more of oneself. Achievement and aspiration coax us out of our self created protective shells. No one else can do our work. No one else sees what we see, knows what we know. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Power is in the purpose. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Power is in the pursuit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Power is in the pause.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yes power is in the pause. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The pause.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To pause is a gift, a space in the time continuum.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

To pause is to open a window to our soul, create a chance to commune and be in dialogue. To pause is to care.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The pause is to both step into ‘the change room’ and allow as it is also to allow room to change.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Life is not about perfection. It is about all the bits and pieces being woven together into one. Often I find it is easy to compartmentalise life. You know. The to do list has a section for parts of life, people, work etc. When in fact everything is interwoven. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Well even if you think you are looking at just one bit you are still the same person looking. When you step into a room it does not matter who the people are because it is still you arriving. When you communicate appropriately or not it again is you behind the words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What also happens seems to matter more than needs to is then is what others focus on. Yes you can affect this. You only share and show what you want people to see. We all do this. I do this. I am sure you do to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me what you focus on in who you be as well as what you see are part of the life you weave. What mattered two years ago may not matter now but it is still a part of your life experience. You might see it with new eyes, sense the lessons learned.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So what is in your focus now? How are you being with you behind the scenes tenderly and kindly caring for you as you figure your way? How are you showing and being you for others in ways that are true, real and aligned with what is ready to reveal itself now?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These are just a few questions for reflection. Authenticity is not about everything coming up and out. It is about knowing yourself so well that you also know what is right for you now and not. It is about knowing when to share and when not. It is about appreciating all the details and holding them with love and revealing what serves you and others.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Authenticity is about loving you first in all the bits and pieces and the whole.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
